As we get closer to finishing, we're very pleased with how it's coming together. It turned out that these features were especially helpful for casual gamers, but I don't recall that we set out to make the game more appealing for any specific group. As part of the brainstorming of ideas and filtering feedback from players of Age of Mythology, we developed a suite of gameplay innovations, included the powerful Atlantean villagers, and the repeat button. After considering several mythologies, the team voted to feature Atlantis. Bruce Shelley: In keeping with our tradition of building "an expansion pack on steroids," we wanted a complete new culture with interesting units, new gods, god powers, and mythological creatures we needed a source for a good single-player campaign story, and a topic that would be fun to work on.

GameSpy: You've been in the industry for many years, starting with your days at MicroProse working on games like Railroad Tycoon, and ending up here at Ensemble Studios. Shelley is well known to strategy game fans, as his career stretches from the earliest days of MicroProse where he worked with Sid Meier on games like F-15 Strike Eagle and Railroad Tycoon. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Bruce Shelley from Ensemble Studios to discuss development of the new expansion pack for Age of Mythology: The Titans.
